Sleep, soreness, and why rest days build muscle

Training creates the stimulus. Recovery turns that stimulus into adaptation. If you feel constantly drained, progress often improves by doing less — with better sleep and planned rest.

Soreness vs. injury

Mild muscle soreness can be normal. Sharp joint pain, swelling, or pain that worsens with light movement is a reason to stop and reassess. When unsure, reduce intensity and seek professional advice.
